PROGRAM:  BACK TO BASICS: A Review of Best Practices for Borders, Mitered Corners, and Bindings.

Presented by: Glenda Kirsch & Michelle Jones

They will show us their tips and tricks for ripple-free borders, and elegant bindings. Glenda will explain the math and methods of adding borders. Michelle will give us a presentation on “What Quilt Show Judges Look For.” What a great opportunity to learn as we plan and prepare to complete our quilts for the upcoming quilt show.

After the meeting, at 12 noon, Glenda will demonstrate how to make mitered corners that are exactly 45 degrees.   No charge.

The 12:30 afternoon class will be taught by Michelle Jones.  She will show us how to get straight binding with consistent width;   how to get flat, square corners (no hand-sewing); and get smooth binding joins (no bumps). Even if you’ve been quilting for years, join us in class and see if there are tips or shortcuts to benefit your sewing methods.
