LECTURE: “Textures and Fabric Origami”

“Textures” which are created by fabric manipulation and folding, add interesting design elements to any fabric creation: fabric boxes, garments, wall hangings, full-size quilts, etc. Textures can be multi-step origami shapes, folded stars, Hexi-shaped blossoms, crisscross tucks, raised bands, and more. We’ll look at a variety of fabric shapes and unique patterns from nationally known authors.

Bring your lunch, and join us for a hands-on Textures and Fabric Origami workshop.

WORKSHOP: Textures and Origami 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Participants willlearn to make a variety of folded star shapes, then will include their favorite ones in a 9-Patch wall hanging. Participants should plan on bringing their sewing machines, usual sewing supplies, iron and pressing mat, and 4 coordinating fat quarters. A supply list for additional items will be provided.
